Centrally located in a partially grade II listed building off Market Place in this bustling, historic town, Lussmanns Hitchin is unique in having a stylish diners’ bar. Pull up a stool and enjoy a selection of bar tapas or have an apéritif before your meal. During the summer months, take a pavement seat to watch the world go by.
I joined the company in 2017 as a waiter and worked my way up from there. I love the challenges of my job – working with such a fun and diverse team is so rewarding. Lussmanns is such a great place to develop your career and I’m really proud to work for a company that focuses so much on sustainability and always trying to improve on what we do.
Hertfordshire born and bred and raised in an environment for eating out in all the top restaurants all over Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire as a child, it was this that gave me the respect for food that I have now.
I have over 34 years of hospitality experience under my belt, specialising in Game and old English Victorian cuisine.
I greatly enjoy developing people and I am currently the student placement coordinator for local catering colleges.
My greatest achievements were holding two rosettes for 15 years and training four chefs up to Michelin star standard. One even became pub chef of the year 2012.
I enjoy working at Lussmanns because it gives me the chance to train more people properly, tracking their development with a detailed star rating tracker.
My favourite dish at Lussmanns is the hake atop the parmentier potatoes, however with my sweet tooth I am always partial to the bread and butter pudding.
