Dining like it’s 2005 helps to save lives

Retro loving diners at Lussmanns St Albans restaurant have helped save lives in Hertfordshire – simply by ordering dishes with a 20-year-old price tag.

We doubled down on our commitment to the local community and affordable, ethical dining to celebrate 20 years in the city with a special anniversary menu featuring three dishes from 2005 – at their original price – while making a £1 donation to St Albans Community First Responders for each diner who ordered one.

The promotion, which ran throughout November, raised £500 which will go towards the charity that attends emergency calls and provides urgent and potentially life-saving care.

Monica Cherry, St Albans Community First Responders Team Leader, said: “We’re so grateful for Lussmanns’ generosity via their anniversary dining initiative. Funds raised from this celebration of 20 successful years of business in St Albans will directly assist our volunteer community responders to deliver life-saving care for people in St Albans and the surrounding area by helping to fund much-needed new defibrillators.”

Andrei Lussmann, Founder and Managing Director of Lussmanns, said he was delighted to support a local charity delivering such a critical service while marking a milestone anniversary.

“We wanted to celebrate 20 years in the wonderful city of St Albans and thank our many loyal customers with tasteful trip down memory lane at the same time as raising vital funds.

“Our brilliant customers clearly enjoyed their cut price camembert fondue, pasta alfredo and autumn pudding and I think it tasted even better knowing £1 for each one was going to the brilliant Community First Responders.”
