Merchant's HouseHertford Private Dining
This town centre restaurant was our first in Hertfordshire, in 2004. With a stylish new bar area and elegant all-round interior, featuring a subtle mix of wood, leather and glass, it lends itself perfectly to formal entertaining, casual dining, special events and business meetings.
There’s a separate private dining room suitable for up to eight guests, complete with a projector and screen. For a slightly larger space, there is a long table with banquette seating for eight-14 guests, and for those planning a larger event still, the whole restaurant and bar, with capacity for 40 guests, can be hired.
All of these spaces are accessible via a ramp at the main entrance. There’s a car park one minute away and Hertford East is five minutes on foot.

Our Hertford restaurant does not permit dogs inside.
Dogs are allowed on our pavement area provided they:
- are kept on a short lead and under control
- remain on the floor at all times
- are quiet and well behaved
- are not fed from your plate
Owners are responsible for their pet’s behaviour and we reserve the right to ask for dogs to be removed at any time.
Please ask if you would like a water bowl.
Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas of our restaurant.
