Restaurant Manager
Darren Johnston
I have been working in the hospitality industry for over 30 years. Since graduating, my career has seen me work in hotels, luxury cruise ships (including the QE2), restaurants and event catering. My time on cruise ships aided me in my love for travelling and tasting local culinary delights. Settling in Hertfordshire in 2005, I spent many years managing local foodie and local ale favourite, the Alford Arms.
What I love about Lussmanns is the sustainable approach to running a great local restaurant with fresh food in beautiful buildings full of character. I have joined a fantastic team of professionals and look forward to helping establish Lussmanns here in Berkhamsted.
My favourite menu items are the Hunters Linguine and the Cod Loin with Norfolk shrimps and crispy kale.

Head Chef
Krisztian Recska
I’m originally from Hungary. I moved to Berkhamsted 15 years ago and consider it like my second home. I have spent the last 30 years of my career improving my skills to become an experienced chef. I love passing on my knowledge to help teach the younger generation to be just like me!
Lussmanns is the best place to achieve my own personal vision of success and to be the best restaurant in Berkhamsted.
My favourite dishes are anything simple with seasonal, freshly cooked ingredients.
